Rape: Man gets 20 years in prison for raping a minor | Nagpur News

Nagpur: The District and Sessions Court on Thursday convicted Nilesh alias Mirchilal Chutelkar under the Pocso Act for raping a 10-year-old girl and sentenced him to 20 years of hard labour. The case dates back to March 2015 when the police filed a charge sheet against the accused, which led to his arrest on April 27, 2015. During the proceedings under the supervision of Deputy District Judge and Deputy Sessions Judge OP Jaiswal, the court emphasised the seriousness of the crime and imposed a stringent sentence under the law. The 31-year-old accused was sentenced to 20 years of hard labour under the Pocso Act with additional fines totalling Rs 8 lakh.
