Former Spandau Ballet singer Ross William Wild is said to have raped three women

Former Spandau Ballet member Ross William Wild was accused of raping three women and filming himself sexually assaulting his victims while they slept.

Ross joined the popular 1980s band in 2018, replacing lead singer Tony Hadley, but was fired 11 months later.

The trial against Ross began on Tuesday (June 11) at London’s Wood Green Crown Court. The singer, whose real name is Ross Davidson, is accused of numerous sexual offenses against five women, three of whom he is said to have raped between 2013 and 2023.

In addition to the rape charge, Ross is also accused of voyeurism, intimidation and controlling behavior.

It is alleged that Ross filmed himself raping one of the women in his apartment in 2013 after they had an argument. He is also accused of another assault while he was at a music festival in France in 2018.

During court, prosecutor Richard Hearden said another victim told police Ross filmed himself groping her breasts. The victim was unaware she was being filmed. Richard described the allegation as “bizarre and perverse”.

A fourth woman accused Ross of raping her and treating her as a “sexual slave.” Ross is also accused of filming her without her consent.

After the alleged incident, the court was told, the woman went into his bathroom and called her mother. Hoping he didn’t hear her, she whispered that she had been hurt.

“If these things are true, the defendant was an extremely manipulative and sadistic person,” Richard said. “She was used as a kind of sex slave. He wanted to have intercourse five or six times a night,” he continued. “When she said it was too much, he forced her to have sex with him.”

After meeting Ross on the dating website Plenty of Fish, a fifth woman admitted to staying overnight at his home in 2015. Richard claimed the woman discovered Ross had sex with her in her sleep.

Ross was arrested in March 2021 and questioned about the alleged rapes, two of the sexual assaults, and the videos.

He has denied all allegations. He also insisted that “everything was consensual between him and the women in question.”

While the trial is still ongoing, members of the Spandau Ballet have not yet responded to the news.
