Sunny and hot today; air quality warning in effect

An air quality warning from the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency and the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency is in effect until midnight today. Both agencies predict that air pollution will reach levels considered “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” such as children, older adults and people with respiratory and heart conditions.

The public, especially members of these sensitive groups, are encouraged to limit outdoor physical exertion and take steps to control air pollution, such as taking the bus or carpooling, refueling vehicles after 6 p.m., and refraining from using gasoline-powered lawn equipment and oil-based paints and stains.

Tonight it will be cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will be around 19 degrees.

On Friday there is a certain probability of rain and storms until the afternoon. Otherwise the clouds will gradually clear during the day and maximum temperatures will reach up to 30 degrees.

The night into Friday will be mostly clear with lows of around 15.5 degrees.

Saturday will be sunny with highs of around 30 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night with lows of around 16 degrees.
