Landscaper trapped under lawn mower in Texas pond dies – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A landscaper succumbed to his injuries after becoming trapped under a commercial riding mower that landed in a large pond in Flower Mound earlier this week.

On Monday, June 10, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Flower Mound Police Department officers and firefighters from the Flower Mound Fire Department responded to a pond near Flower Mound Road and Clearpoint Drive after receiving reports of a person trapped under a lawn mower that was lodged in water.

Flower Mound Fire officials said the landscaper was mowing grass in the area and somehow ended up in the large body of water.

A witness who called 911 reportedly told authorities they tried unsuccessfully to free the victim from the lawnmower.

It took four firefighters to lift the lawnmower and rescue the victim because the water was several feet deep, fire officials said.

The victim was brought to shore and medical personnel performed CPR and advanced life support to save the landscaper’s life. The deceased was then transported to a local hospital where his pulse and blood pressure were checked again.

According to the fire department, the landscape gardener was taken to another facility on Monday evening for further treatment, but eventually died on Tuesday afternoon.

The identity of the victim has not been released and Flower Mound police are still investigating the accident.
