Rape allegation: Gwalior police arrest rape accuser from Bhopal | Bhopal News

Bhopal: Police from Padav police station in Gwalior have arrested a rape suspect from Bhopal, who was hiding in the state capital and living there as a tenant for several months. During the operation, Gwalior police also came across a suspect wanted for theft and arrested him. Police said the accused, a resident of Janakganj in Gwalior, was accused of blackmailing and raping a woman. The survivor had filed a complaint against the accused in 2021, accusing him of taking her explicit pictures after promising to marry her. He later used the pictures to blackmail the woman and raped her in a hotel. He exploited the survivor by threatening to make her pictures viral on social media platforms if she did not comply with his demands. The woman cut off contact with him after she got married and moved to Rajasthan. However, the accused made all her pictures and videos viral. Following the complaint from the survivors, the police started searching for the accused. The police received information that he was staying in Morena and by the time the police reached there, he had fled. It was found that he was in Bhopal. The Gwalior cops reached Bhopal and tracked him down to the building where he was staying as a tenant. The cops disguised themselves as bachelors and rented a room in the same building as a tenant. After two days of surveillance, they knocked on the accused’s room door and asked him to come out and discuss the rent. As soon as the accused opened the door, the cops arrested him. During the operation, the police team came across another suspect who was wanted for theft in Gwalior and had been evading arrest for over two years. They arrested both of them and brought them to Gwalior for interrogation. Bhopal police confirmed that the Padav police had arrested the two criminals from the city.
