Portsmouth police hold a press conference about the boy who was shot

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth police are holding a news conference to talk about a 10-year-old boy who died after being hit by a stray bullet.

According to police, Keontre Thornhill was opening his bedroom window on Friday, April 26, when he was hit by a stray bullet. The next day, police confirmed he had not survived.

According to police, a fight broke out between teenagers outside the home on Farragut Street, leading to the shooting that ended his young life.

Investigators are still searching for a person of interest, 26-year-old Cleon Deonte Banks. They charged 31-year-old Shawnday Nakisha Ross with contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the incident.
