Pedestrian killed on I-95 exit ramp in Henrico County

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) – Virginia State Police responded Sunday to the investigation of a man who was struck and killed on a highway exit ramp.

According to the department, Matthew Aaron Vilanova, 35, of Sandston, was struck around 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, as he entered exit lane 84A on Interstate 95.

According to police, Vilanova succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Vilanova had steered his motorcycle onto the left shoulder of the ramp and entered the lane when he was hit by a car, which then left the road and crashed into a tree.

The crash remains under investigation.
