One person was killed by gunfire in the Los Angeles harbor area on Sunday, authorities confirmed to KTLA.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a “man lying on the ground” and were dispatched to the 400 block of West Oliver Street in San Pedro around 10:30 a.m.

Very few details are available and it is unclear how the shooting occurred, but police officers who responded found the victim at the scene with a gunshot wound.

Footage from the investigation showed a heavy police presence, with part of the road cordoned off with yellow tape as investigators searched the area for evidence.
