Your first warning of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday evening

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A cold front is moving through the Mid-South, bringing rain and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service is issuing a Severe thunderstorm warning until 10 p.m. for much of the area, including Memphis and Shelby County. Some strong to severe storms are possible as the front moves south tonight. The main hazards with tonight’s storms are heavy rain at times, gusty winds, frequent thunder, lightning and small hail. Pay attention to the weather tonight and be sure to download the First Alert Weather app on your smartphone or tablet to stay up to date on tonight’s weather. It will be drier tonight and you’ll have a great start to the work week.

TONIGHT: Scattered rain and thunderstorms, possibly heavy to severe, along with a northeast wind 5 to 10 mph and overnight lows in the low 60s to high 180s.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny with northerly winds of 16 km/h and highs in the afternoon around 27 °C.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear with a light northeast wind and lows in the 60s overnight.

THE REST OF THE WEEK: On Tuesday it will be mostly sunny with highs around 27°C and lows around 15°C. On Wednesday it will be partly cloudy with highs around 27°C and nighttime lows around 18°C. On Thursday it will be mostly sunny with highs around 32°C and nighttime lows around 21°C. On Friday it will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs around 35°C and nighttime lows around 24°C.
