Two people found dead in house in Granite City

GRANITE CITY, Illinois — Police responded to a suspected murder-suicide in the Granite City area on June 8. Officers said the call came in around 3 p.m. reporting that two bodies had been found in a home near Burns Road.

The bodies were identified as those of an 88-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman. Both were taken to the Madison County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing, but police have said this appears to be a murder-suicide and there is no danger to the community.
