• Don’t Call Me Sweetie: 7th Annual Exhibition of Women’s Art at Hardy & Nance Studios | Friday May 10 | FREE – This 7th annual showcase brings together dozens of women artists for a major exhibition. Free drinks will be available from City Orchard, Bad Astronaut, Equal Parts and Eureka Heights, as well as wine and cocktail bundles. 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• Mother’s Day Serenade at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Friday May 10 – The Houston Latin American Philharmonic returns with its annual concert with a Mother’s Day program of Spanish-language songs like “El Milagro de tus Ojos,” “Caballo Viejo” and “Nave del Olvido,” joined by special guests. $33.40 and up. 8 p.m.
• Houston Ballet presents A night of celebration at the Miller Outdoor Theater | Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11 | FREE – The company of internationally renowned dancers takes the stage, showcasing the incredible athleticism and artistry of some of our most beloved ballets of the last 20 years. This is a program that is sure to delight newcomers and ballet enthusiasts alike. 8 p.m.
• Houston Plant Market at the Houston Botanical Garden | Saturday May 11 – Stop by Houston’s sprawling South Gardens for a pre-Mother’s Day plant market, with an array of vendors selling plants, crafts, art and food. Until noon, you can also learn how to make magnificent bouquets while accompanying a brunch with pastries and mimosas (separate cost of $65). • Wellness Series: Meditation at the Asia Society Texas Center Pavilion | Saturday May 11 | FREE – This outdoor meditation session takes place at the Asia Society Warmth, Silhouette facility. • Mother’s Day Market at Heights Mercantile | Saturday May 11 | FREE – Still need the perfect gift, but running out of ideas? Shop to your heart’s content from a wide variety of vendors offering unique goods at this annual all-day market. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Mother’s Day Vendor Fair in Downtown Pearland | Saturday May 11 | FREE – More than 40 vendors will set up shop in Pearland to purchase last-minute gifts ahead of Mother’s Day on Sunday. Enjoy live shows, games and more while you shop. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Mother’s Day Tea at George Ranch Historic Park | Saturday May 11 – Don your finest clothes, including ascots and fascinators, for this Victorian event featuring fashion, etiquette and literature accompanied by traditional tea and cakes. $25; $15 for ages 5 to 18; free for ages 4 and under. Seating at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• Lively Mother’s Day Market at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday May 11 | FREE – Walk past over 85 artists, creatives and makers at this art-centric event where you’ll find handmade and handmade items for that special gift for mom. From noon to 5 p.m.
• Mother’s Day Loteria and Chancla Chucking Contest at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | Saturday May 11 | FREE – The Heights Brewery holds lottery games in the village hall, with a half-time competition to see who can throw their chancla the furthest. 1 p.m.
• Pressed Flower Cards at the Houston Botanical Garden | Saturday May 11 – Held after the morning plant market, this special workshop will show you how to use pre-pressed flowers to create a beautiful card just in time for Mother’s Day. $45. 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Mother’s Day Weekend with Local Market Shop at the Houston Farmers’ Market | Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 | No coverage – Heights Market hosts a two-day market offering opportunities to purchase unique gifts like artisan treasures, local artwork, fresh flowers, plants, jewelry and more, just in time for the mothers’ Day. Black Swan Yoga will be on site at 9 a.m. Sunday morning for a free yoga session. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Mother’s Day Weekend in Bayou Bend Collections and gardens | Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 – Bayou Bend in River Oaks celebrates Mother’s Day weekend, giving moms the chance to be surrounded by the beauty of nature while enjoying art, music and more. • Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the 1880 Garten Verein – Discover the wonders of the magnificent Garten Verein from 1880 where you can dine on an illustrious brunch menu accompanied by live music and with a special gift for mothers. An optional additional ticket will also give you access to the 50th annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour, which ends Sunday. $90 and up. 10 a.m. to noon.
• Mother’s Day Stroll at the Houston Botanical Garden – Create memories on this special Mother’s Day natural and nourishing walk. The goal of this event will be for families to relax, inspire and connect while enjoying the outdoors with captivating art installations, free wellness treatments and much more. $25 and up; $15 and more for ages 4 to 17; free for ages 3 and under. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Free rooftop Pilates class at Post Houston | FREE – Head to Skylawn for a morning Pilates class with a view of Post Houston. Syncd Pilates will take you through a 50-minute full-body Pilates mat session, open to all levels and experiences. Bring a mat, a towel and a bottle of water. 11am.

• Sugar Land Space Cowboys vs. Oklahoma City Baseball Club at Constellation Field – The sixth and final game in this series for the Space Cowboys features a Mother’s Day celebration, as well as a free crossbody bag to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. Kids can also do a pre-game catch on the field, get player autographs and run the bases after the game. $11 and up. 2 p.m.
