Man shot multiple times in Atlanta carjacking

ATLANTA — A 40-year-old man was rushed to Grady Hospital Friday evening after police say he was shot multiple times while being carjacked in the neighborhood from Venetian Hills to Atlanta.

Atlanta Police officers responded to 1489 Campbellton Road SW on Friday around 7:30 p.m. to a call about a person shot. When they arrived, they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds.

APD said the investigation revealed the 40-year-old victim was the victim of a carjacking when the situation escalated into gunfire. The suspect then drove off in the victim’s car after the shooting, police said.

The man was rushed to hospital, where police said he was being treated.

Police are still searching for the suspect in this case.
