A slot fade throw landed right in the basket. A 17-yard out throw towards the sideline where only his receiver can catch it. A laser seam throw into zone coverage that is very reminiscent of Dylan Raiola’s throw to Alex Bullock in the spring game. The deep crosser is thrown by the safety over the top and over the corner.

Lateef appears to be in a well-thought-out system — Lutheran head coach Rod Sherman once led Valor Christian in Colorado — but his delivery and execution are smooth.

Good footwork. Quick decisions. It’s a good picture.

The specifications: Running back, 1.83 m, 84 kg.

Bring away: Nebraska has now signed two running backs for the class of 2025: Jamarion Parker and Conor Booth from Wahoo Neumann. Considering NU didn’t get a high school back a year ago and instead added Dante Dowdell from the transfer portal, a class with two running backs makes sense.

Both players are electrifying runners, and it’s Parker’s speed that stands out in his junior film. He averaged 11.2 yards per carry in a season in which he scored 22 touchdowns. Parker’s vision in the backfield often helps him pull to the rim and accelerate past defenders.

To be successful in college, he will likely need to put on weight and prove his physical strength between the tackles. Nebraska will want to maintain Parker’s speed in the track, as he is faster than almost any other player.

Secondary school: Omaha North.

The specifications: Defensive lineman, 6’2″, 280 lbs.

Bring away: Tyson Terry is as strong as any, having won three Class A state titles in heavyweight wrestling. The 6’2″, 280-pound fighter is an absolute force on the defensive line, and his outstanding strength often allows Terry to easily rush past opposing offensive linemen. Although the defensive tackle takes many snaps closer to the interior of the line, he is also an excellent pass rusher.

Terry started playing on the varsity football team as a freshman and has recorded 212 total tackles, 38 for loss, and 12½ sacks in his three-year high school career. Signing a player of this caliber within state lines was a no-brainer for Nebraska – and the Huskers could benefit for years to come.

Secondary school: Lincoln Southwest.

The specifications: Athlete, 1.88 m, 84 kg.

Bring away: Jackson Carpenter, a promising wide receiver, received an offer from Nebraska in January and kept the Huskers as one of his top options alongside Kansas. A visit to campus for a spring practice was enough for Carpenter to finalize his decision before another visit for the spring game.

Jackson, the son of former Nebraska tight end/fullback Tim Carpenter, recorded 28 catches for 549 yards and seven touchdowns in his junior season at Lincoln Southwest.

He also brings more speed from his own state. Nebraska already has strong sprinting receivers like Jaylen Lloyd (Westside) and Malachi Coleman (Lincoln East), and Carpenter fits that group. With his build, he will fit well as an outside threat in NU’s offense. Nebraska isn’t taking Carpenter just like that – he fits the speed profile.

Secondary school: Bishop Neumann.

The specifications: Running back, 1.85 m, 97 kg.

Bring away: Conor Booth was an extremely efficient runner in his sophomore season as a fullback, averaging 13.4 yards per carry and scoring 20 total touchdowns. As a junior, he switched to running back in a new offense, running for 2,159 yards (10.6 per carry), catching eight passes for 185 yards and scoring 35 total touchdowns in 10 games.

He’s a real hitter as a runner, but he has decent speed and has shown the ability to trip up defenders in Class C. Obviously, Booth isn’t playing against the best defense in Class A – and he doesn’t like Elkhorn South’s offensive line, either.

Booth is a catcher and outfielder with a 60-yard time of 6.69 seconds and an exit velocity of 98.6 mph, according to Prep Baseball Report. Baseball talent is hard to predict, but Booth also seems like a nice addition to Will Bolt’s baseball team.
