RENOVO – Renovo Police have arrested 41-year-old Darryl W. McDermit Jr. after receiving reports of trespassing and possible property damage to properties in the community, including Yesterday’s Hotel.

McDermit was charged with trespassing and three minor misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia Thursday afternoon after he was found at 8:53 a.m. in a vacant apartment at 334 Erie Avenue in Renovo, police said.

McDermit did not rent the apartment and had no right to be there. He had previously been told to leave the apartment, police said.

When McDermit was arrested, he was found in possession of a suspected drug smoking device and drug bags, police said.

This arrest was part of a large-scale operation planned by police, which also included a large-scale search of Yesterday’s Hotel, 100 3rd St., Renovo.

Police said complaints of trespassing and property damage were received at both locations.

McDermit was not charged in connection with the damage to Yesterday’s.

Officers were assisted by numerous other area law enforcement agencies, including the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police Lamar Barracks.

McDermit was arraigned before District Judge Frank Mills and remanded to the Clinton County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.

Renovo Police are asking anyone who observes individuals entering or damaging Yesterday’s Hotel property to call 911 immediately and not wait to notify police at a later time.
