Motorcyclist killed in accident in Fort Collins

DENVER (KDVR) — A motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Fort Collins on Wednesday.

At approximately 7:26 p.m., 911 was called in Fort Collins for a motorcycle accident in the 1000 block of East Drake Road. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on a 2007 Yamaha in the 1000 block of East Drake Road when he allegedly struck a fence on the north side of the road. Investigators did not disclose what factors may have led to the crash.

Police said they attempted to save the man’s life, but he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Fort Collins Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction and Accident Location Team will now take over the investigation.

East Drake Road was closed between Lemay Avenue and Stover Street for four hours.
