Levi Wright dies after driving a toy tractor into a creek

Rodeo star Spencer Wright and his wife Kallie are mourning the loss of their three-year-old son Levi, who died in a drowning accident after his life support was taken off.

According to family spokeswoman Mindy Sue Clark, a memorial service will be held in Beaver, Utah. Clark confirmed to People that Levi died on June 2.

On May 21, Levi drove his toy tractor into a Utah river near his home. Rescue workers found the toddler unconscious about a mile downstream. Although Levi opened his eyes two days later, he never regained consciousness after suffering a severe brain injury.

“Levi Spencer Wright – March 24, 2021 – June 2, 2024,” Clark wrote on Facebook. “The most perfect three-year-old ever. So perfect we couldn’t keep him. This little boy has moved mountains in the last 12 days. He has brought so many people together. In a world so dark, we have been able to see light through the hands of a child. He is everything his mommy and daddy would have wanted him to be.”

In a Facebook post on June 2, Kallie announced that she and Spencer had made the decision to stop life-sustaining treatment after “numerous conversations with the best neurologists in the world and millions of prayers.”

“Soon I will climb into bed with my baby and hold him as he falls asleep for the last time on this earth,” Kallie wrote. “It brings me comfort to know that he will go back to being the perfect little boy he was and have the ability to do all the things he loves!”

“I know there are angels up there waiting to hold him until I can!” she continued. “We will miss him every second of every day down here, but we are convinced this is the best thing we can do for him!”

Kallie included a video of herself and Levi riding around on a piece of farm equipment. In the clip, she kisses Levi on the cheek and asks, “Are you my best buddy?” to which he replies, “Yes!”

The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on May 21 that a child drove a toy tractor into a river.

“To everyone who decided to spend almost an hour trying to resuscitate him and not give up. I would hug you if I could,” Kallie wrote on Facebook. She called all first responders “mine and Levi’s angels.”

Kallie posted several updates from the hospital and said that she and Levi’s father are exploring various therapies for their son.

“Please don’t think for a second that we didn’t do our homework completely, it was non-stop,” Kallie said. “I’ll close by saying that no parent in this situation ever ‘gives up’ on their child.”
