West Islip man missing, Silver Alert issued: Police

Robert Lynch, 94, has not been seen or heard from since he left his West Islip home to shop at Costco on Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

WEST ISLIP, NY — Suffolk County police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing 94-year-old West Islip man who is hearing impaired, police said.

Robert Lynch has not been seen or heard from since 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, when he left his Edgewood Road home in his gray 2004 Cadillac Seville (NY license plate CHZ 5488) to go shopping at Costco in Commack, police said.

According to police, Lynch’s vehicle was last seen on Pine Aire Drive in Bay Shore around 1:10 p.m.

He is 1.73 m tall, weighs 68 kg, has grey hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on his last known whereabouts can call 911 or Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.

Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement agencies to release information about missing persons with special needs to the media.
