Houston Texans wide receiver Dell Tank had a better rookie season than anyone could have imagined before breaking his fibula

Dell caught 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in just 11 games, becoming one of CJ Stroud’s favorite targets.

But the broken leg spoiled things, and things only got worse when Dell was injured in a nightclub shooting in April. We now know exactly what led to the incident.

Tank Dell says he was in ‘wrong place, wrong time’ when shot

Dell joined Stroud on a recent episode of the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast and explained how he ended up getting shot.

“First of all, I’m lucky,” he said. “For me it was just the wrong place, wrong time. I went back to see my mother. I wasn’t even planning on going back and going to the little pool party or something. But my boys found out I was home, so they contacted me.

“They told me, ‘Stop by the party.’ They told me there would be security checks, people would be checked at the door, stuff like that, so I’m like, okay, cool. It was a good atmosphere, and there were a lot of people I knew in there, so that was cool. And then it came out of nowhere. It went south out of nowhere.

Ten people were shot during the incident and, despite his attempts to escape, Dell was caught in the crossfire.

“I thought I removed myself from the situation, like you see on the video when I came across.” he stated. “But I put myself in the middle of two people. It’s gone crazy.

Fortunately, he is well on his way to a full recovery.

In fact, Dell resumed operations just weeks after the incident.

This is great news for him, Stroud and the Texans as they look to move from being a playoff team to a Super Bowl contender.
