Dead person found near Ramstein Air Base parking garage

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — A body was found near the passenger terminal at Ramstein Air Base over the weekend, Air Force officials said Monday.

The person was found dead near the long-term parking garage around 8:15 a.m. Saturday, 86th Airlift Wing officials said in a statement. No foul play is suspected at this time, a base official said.

The garage in building 3331 is located behind the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, a high-traffic area that is home to the stock exchange, dozens of stores and a hotel.

The name of the person found dead will not be released until 24 hours after next of kin are notified, officials said. The death is currently under investigation, base officials said.
