Wilmington police investigate fatal traffic accident

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash.

The head-on collision occurred near the 6500 block of Market Street just before 10 p.m. Sunday evening.

When WPD arrived, they began assisting the Wilmington Fire Department and Novant Health EMS in providing life-saving measures to the affected individuals. Unfortunately, one person died at the scene.

Two other people were transported to Novant NHRMC, where another succumbed to his injuries. The second person is in critical condition.
