Two dead after wreck in NE Harris County | News from Houston, Texas

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, one vehicle ran a red light, slamming the other vehicle into a light pole, causing it to explode.

HOUSTON — Two people are dead after a fiery crash in northeast Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

This happened near East Sam Houston Parkway North and Little York. Sheriff Gonzalez posted a tweet about the wreck, saying it was the result of a collision between two vehicles that were likely traveling at a high rate of speed.

Gonzalez said one vehicle ran a red light, hitting the other vehicle and knocking it into a light pole, where it caught fire.

Two men who were in the car died. The two women who were in the other vehicle were not injured.
