Mumbai Police issues statement on ‘attack’ on Raveena Tandon, says: ‘Both parties deny…’

Mumbai Police on Sunday released a statement on the clashes that broke out outside actress Raveena Tandon’s house on Saturday over a minor parking issue. The video of the incident is doing the rounds on social media platforms, in which Raveena Tandon can be seen defending herself against people who tried to push her and hit her driver.

“Tandon’s driver tried to reverse the car and three people from a family feared that they would be hit. After the argument, both parties left the car and later the police reached the accident spot and questioned Tandon’s associates. The other party was also called to the police station. Both parties denied making any complaints,” Mumbai Police said.

The police statement came after the video of the incident went viral on social media platforms. In it, Raveena Tandon is seen urging people to calm down and can also be heard saying, “Don’t hit me.”

According to the police report, the incident took place on Carter Road in Bandra on Saturday evening. Although no formal First Information Report (FIR) was filed, an officer said that a station diary entry was recorded at Khar police station. Raveena is yet to comment on the incident. Allegedly, her driver hit three people with the vehicle, which incited the anger of the gathered crowd and led to a confrontation.

The man claimed that the actress was under the influence of alcohol and started attacking the woman when she got out of the vehicle. An officer from Khar police station reported that Raveena and her driver were confronted by a crowd after the incident on the premises of a building on Carter Road. The officer added that the incident occurred after the driver reversed his car.

Mumbai Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident and no complaint was filed by any party.
