Toddler Found Safe After Kidnapping in Virginia; Amber Alert has been cancelled

SCOTT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) – An infant at the center of an Amber Alert issued Monday has been found safe, according to officials.

Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse issued an Amber Alert on behalf of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office regarding a child abduction that occurred Monday around 8 p.m

According to police, 10-month-old Cedar Samuel Griffith was believed to be in extreme danger and was last reportedly seen wearing only a diaper on Daniel Boone Road in Gate City, Virginia.

Ashley Jordan Griffith’s child is believed to have been abducted. Police said the two may have been traveling in a blue 2005 Lexus RX330 with a temporary Tennessee tag.

According to the Scott’s County Sheriff’s Office, the alert was lifted Tuesday evening after it was determined the child was safe.
