Woman arrested after sniffer dog finds $3,000 worth of drugs during traffic stop – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DARKE COUNTY – A Greenville woman was arrested Friday night after officers found $3,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop.

At about 9:48 p.m., Darke County Sheriff’s officers stopped a 2001 Chevy driven by 32-year-old Bobby Sue Hicks on State Route 49 near Kilbourn Road for marked lane marking violations and speeding, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

“During the traffic stop, criminal indicia were observed and a Greenville Police Department drug detection dog was called to the scene,” the sheriff’s office said. “The detection dog indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.”

Approximately half a pound of methamphetamine and $647.00 in cash were seized.

According to the sheriff’s office, the seized drugs have a street value of approximately $3,000.00.

Hicks was arrested and is being held in the Darke County Jail. She is charged with drug trafficking (a first-degree felony) and tampering with evidence (a third-degree felony) after it was discovered that she attempted to hide the drugs from officers.

The case remains under investigation.
