Shooting in Kremmling leaves one dead and one injured

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Kremmling on Friday morning.

On May 31, around 10 a.m., Grand County dispatch received a report that a man had shot himself and a woman in the front yard of a residence on South First Street in Kremmling. When officers arrived, they found a man dead with a gunshot wound to the head and a woman with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, according to a Kremmling police news release.

Kremmling police said the woman was taken to Middle Park Health in Kremmling and later flown by helicopter to another hospital in the Denver area. She continues to receive medical care, according to the news release.

The incident is being investigated by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Grand County Coroner’s Office. Officials believe this is an isolated incident and the community is not at risk.
