New footage shows woman arrested after bizarre attack on MacArthur Causeway

MIAMI — Authorities released dashcam footage Friday showing the arrest of a Miami woman accused of attacking two men with Windex and a screwdriver after a crash on the MacArthur Causeway.

Acklynn Byamugisha was arrested on May 20 following the incident. A friend told Local 10 News that the 26-year-old was “having a seizure” at the time.

Video released by the Florida Highway Patrol shows Byamugisha claiming self-defense after she was handcuffed.

“He attacked me. He literally pulled my hair and hit me,” she says in the recording.

Byamugisha was combative and very talkative in the back seat of a patrol car.

“Fuck you,” she says to a police officer. “It’s no use having a screwdriver if I’ve never used it.”

According to police, Byamugisha was driving a black BMW when it was hit from behind by a white SUV.

A verbal argument then broke out between the SUV driver and his father.

The video shows the suspect talking to the police the whole time.

“Don’t even touch me, don’t look at me. Next time you see me, I will be wearing party clothes,” says Byamugisha.

She displayed bizarre behavior in front of Local 10’s cameras, waving and even dancing.

Eventually she was sent to prison and faces serious charges.

Byamugisha is accused of grievous bodily harm. She has since been released from prison on bail.
