Cause of garbage truck fire in Shawnee remains under investigation

SHAWNEE, Kansas (KCTV) – The cause of an afternoon garbage truck fire in Shawnee remains under investigation.

The Shawnee, Kansas Fire Department said emergency crews were called to the area of ​​W. 63rd and Widmer Rd. around 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, for a report of a fire.

When the rescue workers arrived, they said they found a garbage truck on fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The fire department said the cause of the fire was still being investigated.
