Centre County man flown to hospital after car accident

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – A Philipsburg man had to be flown to UPMC Altoona after a car accident in Rush Township earlier this month.

Pennsylvania State Police said they were called to East Presqueisle Street near Black Moshannon Road just before 2 p.m. on May 18. John Sine, 66, of Philipsburg was driving his Chevy Equinox north when he lost control and left the road.


PSP determined that the car struck a large brick post, causing severe damage to the front of the vehicle. Sine was airlifted to UPMC Altoona with suspected serious injuries.

The police also determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol and that charges had been filed against him.
