Mumbai: In two separate incidents, police officers were attacked while on duty in public areas. In Virar, constable Utkarsha Vanjari (25) of Arnala police station was physically attacked by three women during an altercation between two groups at Panka Fast pub in Gokul town on Saturday evening. The accused women Kavya Pradhan (22), Ashwini Patil (31) and Poonam were remanded to police custody for a day. In another incident, incident commander Machindra Rathod (26) was violently attacked with an iron pipe by Arun Singh after Rathod responded to a distress call from Singh, who was drunk and locked in a shop.
