Woman convicted in Logan County car crash that killed teenager

A woman who admitted to being impaired when a Logan County crash killed a 17-year-old girl has been sentenced.

Briana Mohler, 22, was sentenced to 11 to 16.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license.

Back in January, News Center 7 reported that Mohler was traveling on County Road 130 and Township Road 56 when she turned left off center and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Chloe Hodge of Bellefontaine.

Paramedics took both to Ohio State Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries. Hodge died two days later.

According to Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds, Mohler was out on bail at the time of the accident and was charged with aggravated possession offense.

In court, Mohler admitted that he was impaired at the time of the accident.

“Briana Mohler should not have been driving on the road that day,” Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart told WBNS. “Her license was suspended; she was using drugs that night.”
