Woman arrested for arson at Jolie apartments

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – A woman has been arrested and faces multiple charges for allegedly setting a large fire at a Shreveport apartment complex over the weekend.

According to the Shreveport Fire Department, 39-year-old Kimberly Halmon is in custody and faces several charges, including aggravated arson.


She is suspected of starting the fire at the Jolie Apartments, which caused extensive damage and injured three Shreveport firefighters.

The efforts of around 48 firefighters in 18 units succeeded in bringing the fire under control in almost three hours.

One person was rescued, but no civilians were injured. The incident remains under investigation.
