Man charged with raping child on birthday – CCN

According to arrest warrants, a Whiteville man is alleged to have raped his own child on the suspect’s birthday.

Phillip Michael Stephens, 39, is being held on $2 million bail, jail records show. He was arrested Thursday on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, sexual battery and incest.

According to arrest warrants obtained by Whiteville police, Stephens allegedly committed sexual acts on the 10-year-old, including forced sexual intercourse. The acts allegedly took place on Stephens’ birthday in May.
