Person found dead in Encino pool – NBC Los Angeles

On Monday afternoon, a person was found dead in the pool of a residential building in Encino.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was notified of a body in the pool on Haskell Avenue near Saticoy Street at around 2:38 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the body may have been there for an unknown but extended period of time.

The gender and age of the deceased person were not disclosed.

Although the cause of death has not been confirmed, the drowning incident came as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention said drowning cases across the country are on the rise again after decades of decline. From 2020 to 2022, over 4,500 people died from drowning each year, 500 more than in 2019.
