Investigations into shooting in northwest DC underway

Police are looking for a man who was last seen on a bicycle or scooter.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a man early Monday morning. Investigators say the man fled the scene on a scooter or bicycle.

DC Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. on the 5200 block of 3rd Street Northwest, near Washington Latin Public Charter School. When they arrived at the scene, officers found the man shot. He was awake and breathing when he was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Police are still investigating what exactly led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
