Woman dies in accident at Silver Lake State Park – 9&10 News

OCEANA COUNTY – A woman is dead after a Jeep apparently went out of control in Silver Lake State Park.

The Oceana County Sheriff said it happened just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday on the state park’s drag strip area.

We’re told a Jeep CJ driven by a 64-year-old Michigan man lost control during the race. It then headed toward a family watching the race. The sheriff said the Jeep struck a parked vehicle, which in turn struck 33-year-old Kadie Price of Pierson, Michigan. The sheriff said Kadie pushed her two-year-old daughter out of the way, likely saving the child’s life.

Kadie Price died at the scene of the accident despite bystanders attempting to help her. The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating how this happened.
