According to police, one person has died in Wilson following a police-involved shooting

WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) – A police-involved shooting in Wilson resulted in the death of a citizen Sunday morning, Wilson police said.

The shooting occurred in the 800 block of Belmont Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, which was on the scene, is leading the investigation. The Wilson Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is also investigating the incident.

The two officers involved were not injured. They were assigned administrative duties until the investigation was completed.
