New era | Launch services suspended across Bangladesh

The authorities have suspended all barge traffic on inland waterways until further notice.

According to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority on Saturday evening, the decision was taken due to the approaching cyclonic storm Remal over the North West Bay and the surrounding area.

It was said that to ensure the safety of the population, all take-offs and landings in Bangladesh had been suspended for Sunday.
