Chatham County cops catch alligator in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ga. (WTOC) – A newly released Chatham County Police bodycam video shows two officers wrestling with an alligator in a Georgetown neighborhood.

According to officials, the alligator was roaming the neighborhood on Thursday evening.

In the video you can see Cpl. Blackledge and Cpl. Stapleton immediately spring into action, catching the alligator and closing its mouth.

Both officers managed to get the alligator safely into the back seat of a patrol car and release it back into the wild.
