Two Pune police officers suspended for mishandling Porsche accident | Pune News

Pune Police has suspended two of its officers from Yerwada police station for dereliction of duty in the initial response to the Porsche accident that killed two IT engineers on May 19.

“A police inspector and a deputy police inspector have been suspended for dereliction of duty pending the completion of investigations,” a senior police officer of Pune Police confirmed the suspension.

Police Inspector Rahul Jagdale and Assistant Police Inspector Vishwanath Todkari mishandled the investigation and failed to inform the radio control room about the incident in a timely manner, the officer added.

Speaking to media representatives today, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had hinted at punitive action against officials involved in the early phase of the Porsche accident. He had said that the internal investigation by a deputy commissioner The police found at first glance that there had been “a certain degree of negligence” on the part of the police officers involved in the initial response to the case.

“The officials concerned have acted negligently and appropriate action will be initiated against the officer as soon as possible,” Kumar had told reporters earlier today when asked about the status of the internal investigation currently being conducted by the Pune city police.

Kumar said that the An FIR has been filed against the minor boy. 8 am on Sunday. He was then taken to Sassoon General Hospital for medical examination. “Here, blood samples were taken from him at around 11 am. There is a time lag in collecting the blood samples. But our case under Section 304 (intentional killing) is not dependent on a blood report. We have watertight evidence that he (the minor) was of sound mind when he committed the offence,” Kumar said.

IT engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who were from Madhya Pradesh and worked in Pune, were killed after a speeding Porsche driven by a 17-year-old boy collided with their motorcycle at Kalyani Nagar junction in Pune at around 2:30 am on May 19 while drunk.

On Friday, a special court remanded his father in 14-day judicial custody and refused to grant an extension to the custody by the Pune police’s Crime Branch. The real estate agent was accused of handing over the car keys to the minor, who was a minor, inexperienced and did not have a driving license.
