Suspect in Incline murder case arrested after year-long investigation

On June 23, 2023, officers conducted a welfare check at a residence on Hazel Court in Incline Village and found a dead man. Sheriff’s detectives, with assistance from the Forensic Investigation Division and the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner, began an investigation. Alec Flores was eventually identified as a suspect and a warrant was later issued for his arrest.

On May 23 of this year, 2024, Flores was tracked down in Reno and arrested without incident by members of the Regional Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Flores is being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility on suspicion of open murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
