One person died and two others were injured after the shooting at the St. Charles Convention Center

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – One person is dead and two others are injured after a shooting in St. Charles last night.

It happened in the parking lot of the St. Charles Convention Center and the adjacent Embassy Suites Hotel.


Authorities told FOX 2 two people were arrested. They identified the person killed as 19-year-old Terrell Peete of St. Louis.

Video from the scene shows a car crashing into the tree; The car appeared to have bullet holes.

St. Charles Police say this all happened just after 8 p.m. last night. Authorities told FOX 2 that officers responded to reports of a triple shooting in the parking lot.

When they arrived, they found the crashed car and four people near the vehicle, three of whom were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Two of the three injured people were taken to hospital with what police said were life-threatening injuries.

The third injured person did not require immediate medical attention.

Authorities said Peete, one of the people shot and discovered by police, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

We have no information this morning on the condition of the other person, who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities did not provide any information about the two people arrested.

There was a second crime scene near the convention center that police told FOX 2 had some connection to the violence; However, this connection is currently unclear.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting in the first place. The St. Charles police investigation is ongoing.
