A weather warning remains in effect for North Texas overnight and Thursday

NORTH TEXAS — The risk of severe weather will continue into the night from Wednesday to Sunday, with the possibility of isolated strong to severe storms.

A stationary front continues to move across North Texas Wednesday evening, and we see lines of storms developing along and south of the border.

The weather alert will remain in effect overnight and again on Thursday.

The front is moving north and we see the potential for strong to severe storms in the afternoon hours. However, the question remains whether the atmosphere can recover sufficiently from Wednesday’s storms to allow storms to form on Thursday.

The main dangers are heavy hail, destructive winds and flooding.

A flood warning is in effect for most of North Texas until 1 a.m. Friday, so heavy rain will drain quickly and could cause flash flooding.

After that, temperatures rise and humidity remains the same.

Temperatures will be above 30 degrees over the holiday weekend, but it might feel like temperatures are above 18 degrees every day.

There will be a dry front Sunday through Monday, so Memorial Day should feel a little better.
