A stabbing victim lost so much blood that she couldn’t tell officers what happened to her, according to Austintown police.

However, another woman told police she was in the room at the Super 8 Motel when a fight broke out between the victim and 25-year-old Israel Agosto Monday night.

The witness told police that the victim began hitting Agosto, described in the police report as the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

As the two scuffled, Agosto landed on top of the victim. The witness said the victim was bleeding when she pulled Agosto down and left the room.

According to police, the victim had a deep cut on her arm and her hand was bleeding.

An officer applied a tourniquet to the woman’s arm until emergency responders could take over.

Meanwhile, all available police officers were called to 76 Drive, where they found Agosto in a parking lot. According to police, his pants and hands were covered in blood.

Agosto, who led officers to a pocket knife that he admitted throwing into a bush, told police that he pulled out the knife during the scuffle to defend himself against the woman.

After undergoing surgery at a Youngstown hospital, the victim was transported to Cleveland for further treatment.

Agosto was booked into county jail on charges of aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.
