The hospital in Ohio is temporarily suspending operations

The facility is the only hospital within 18 miles of Hicksville.

HICKSVILLE, Ohio – A hospital in Defiance County temporarily suspended operations Sunday, according to a Facebook post from the facility.

In a post Thursday, Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville said it would temporarily suspend operations starting Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Hospital management said it was pursuing “all options to restore operations and keep services available in the community.”

A reason for the ban was not given in the post.

Community Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in the Village of Hicksville, home to approximately 3,400 people. It is located 22 miles west of the town of Defiance. The closest hospital to Hicksville is Paulding County Hospital, approximately 18 miles away.
