Shopkeeper in Gurgaon attacked after dispute over accident | Delhi News

According to police, a shopkeeper was allegedly beaten up by a group of men after a scuffle over an accident in Gurgaon on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 4 pm on Wednesday when Amit Sharma was allegedly attacked with sticks by a group of 25 people at Khandsa Mandi in Gurgaon, police said.

According to Amit’s complaint, his father Jai Kishan Sharma was on his way home on his scooter when it collided with a truck. The wheel of the truck allegedly hit Amit’s father’s leg. “This led to an argument between my father and the truck driver. Afterwards, my father came to a shop near me again and informed me about the incident before going home. The defendant and two or three others then came to my shop and began abusing me. They grabbed my hand and dragged me to a store where the truck was parked. 20 to 25 people armed with sticks already gathered there and they immediately started beating me with sticks,” he said in his complaint.

Amit further said that as he shouted for help, people gathered nearby following which the accused fled the scene in various vehicles, including a red Thar. “Subsequently, the shopkeepers in the area took me to the hospital and I was admitted,” he added.

Police said they were informed about the incident by the hospital at 8.30 pm on Wednesday and a first information report (FIR) was registered at Shivaji Nagar police station.
