Man arrested for allegedly raping a child at his 40th birthday party in Mossel Bay

A 40-year-old Mossel Bay man has been arrested for raping a four-year-old girl.

He was arrested at his workplace in the city on Monday.

Police said the suspect was related to the child and the alleged incident occurred at his 40th birthday party at his home in Heiderand early last month.

A police spokesman said the child told his mother and charges had been laid with Mossel Bay Police.

The suspect remains in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance at the Mossel Bay Magistrates Court this week.
