INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have found a missing 22-year-old woman.

The woman was last seen on Sunday, May 12, in the 4500 block of Willow Forge Court, which is near W. 59th Street and Guion Road on Indy’s northwest side.

She was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 250 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a red and white striped candy cane dress and purple and white shoes.

According to IMPD, she was safely located and provided no further information.

Amber Alert vs Silver Alert: What’s the difference?

There are certain standards that a person’s disappearance must meet in order for police to issue an Amber Alert or a Silver Alert.

Amber Alerts are aimed at children under 18 who are believed to have been abducted and are in danger. Police also need information about a suspect and their car to issue an Amber Alert.

Silver Alerts apply to missing and endangered adults or children. They are much more common in missing people. Just last year, Silver Alert standards were expanded to include children.

In both situations, these warnings must be issued by the police.
