Motorcycle accident sends driver to hospital by plane on Saturday – first state update

At approximately 12:13 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews were dispatched to a motorbike traffic collision at 1560 Vandyke Greenspring Road in Smyrna, Kent County.

The incident prompted responses from multiple units, including Kent County Paramedics, Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 4 and local fire departments from Hartly, Clayton and Townsend.

The motorcyclist was reportedly seriously injured in the accident and was subsequently flown by Trooper 4 to Christiana Hospital for medical treatment.

No further details regarding the cause of the collision or the driver’s current condition have been released at this time.

Delaware State Police are investigating the crash.
