AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A portion of I-290 westbound in Amherst is closed due to a serious car accident involving a motorcycle.

Amherst police are at the scene of the crash on westbound I-290 near Niagara Falls Boulevard.

According to police, all three lanes between exits 4 and 5 are closed. Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
