Victim of fatal Smithtown traffic accident identified

April 26—The identity of the man who died in a car crash at the intersection of Smithtown Road and Smithtown School Road Wednesday evening was released Friday afternoon by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.

Bradley Fairman, 57, of Fairmont, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On scene, officers found a 2001 GMC box truck that had crashed into a large culvert near the intersection of the two streets.

According to the sheriff’s office, emergency responders and firefighters found Fairman, who was driving the truck, unresponsive.

The Triune-Halleck and Clinton District Volunteer Fire Departments responded along with Mon and Marion EMS.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department and no further information is available, including why Fairman drove into the culvert.
